Exactitude

Ogni aspetto dell'abito, qualunque esso sia, non è mai messo a caso: determina la posizione sociale in cui si trova, o quella a cui si vorrebbe appartenere. Se l'abito non fa il monaco, è pur vero che anche il monaco si distingue proprio grazie a quell'abito....(con le dovute eccezioni, grazie a Dio).

Per quanto sembrino cose di secondaria importanza, la missione degli abiti non è soltanto quella di tenerci caldo. Essi cambiano l'aspetto del mondo ai nostri occhi e cambiano noi agli occhi del mondo. (Virginia Woolf, Orlando – 1928).
